Hi Miggie, sorry I lost your post in all of the traffic on this thread. I'm not sure how close of a friend you are talking about, and how close you are to his sister. Proper nutrition and daily exercise, specifically resistance, impact loading as well as cardio exercises have proven to be very valuable tools for fighting not just the cancer, but the side effects of the treatments, some of which can be as brutal as the cancer itself. I would encourage you to encourage your friend, or his sister to come to this forum and read the posts from actual prostate cancer patients of all ages, some with new diagnoses like myself and others who have been fighting this disease for 16 years like @jeffmark all with many different grades of the same cancer, the different treatment options, their different journeys, outcomes, test scores, PSA levels, testosterone levels.... You get the picture, if you were my friend I would welcome your guidance to this forum.

I so agree with everything you suggested. His head is stuck into YouTube. I know of his sister. His diet is not the best and he walks. He knows I am on Mayo’s site. I am just a friend that person he can vent to. Not the girl next door. I tried to get him to get online here instead of YouTube. You and I both know he needs to change some things but it has to be him. From food to exercise and getting enough protein.
I get lost sometimes I am new to this I have only been here maybe a month or so. He ignored this for 6 months. I begged him to tell his sister and finally he shared with her what was going on. I so appreciate your kind words thank you. Keep me posted how you are doing.
