@njx58 Thanks, I read that here about adjusting the dosage downwards on Tymlos, which I think is a very good idea especially when starting. What I don't understand is that Tymlos is 80 mcg and Forteo is 20 mcg, so it seems that Forteo is a lower dose however I realize that they are made with different ingredients so I guess that explains why we can't compare them via dosage. If I get a choice on which to take? Not sure I will but I wish I understood more about the difference. If dr doesn't agree with lower dose of Tymlos I would suggest that it is just temporary as we are adjusting to the medication.

@mako8 You cannot compare the standard dosages of 2 different medications: 80mcg of Tymlos versus 20mcg of Forteo is like comparing apples and oranges. How could you even know you need a lower dosage of Tymlos without taking it? I am a small female and have no problem taking the standard dosage of Tymlos. You are anticipating problems that may not even exist. The real problem is that your T-Score of -3.0 indicates that u have already lost 25-35% of your skeletal mass in that area where the DEXA scanned. Sadly, once you get that low, supplements and exercise are not going to help you.
