Thank you for your prayers. Update for anyone else who has experienced this issue. It’s been one year since my first cervical fusion from the front on C4-7, which had a hardware failure of loosened screw which was pointed at my airway. My surgeon removed the hardware, flipped me over and did a posterior fusion on same levels.
It was a painful recovery, mainly my shoulders.
Here I am today doing much better. I have some stiffness and arthritis in my neck but overall, the fusion has resolved my pain and I am happy I did it.
Many thanks to all of you who helped me with your comments about your surgery, it really means so much to those who are struggling with the decision to have surgery or not.

@ga29 Its been three years since mine. The hardware in my case did not fail my bones were too soft so they had to pull me in a week later for an anterior cervical surgery C3 to T1? something like that. It was the worst of my spine surgeries BUT there was no option if I wanted to be out of screaming pinched nerve pain with all my compression and bone problems in my neck. So life goes on with stiffness and lack of mobility. Who needs to see the top shelf at the market anyway?! but I do need to do my artwork and keep house. The pluses outweighed the negatives!

@ga29 I am glad to hear you are doing well and the surgery helped your pain. I am also glad I had my cervical fusion. Sharing your story here helps a lot of people who are navigating a spine condition. It was nice to see you here in the community.
