I was diagnosed with FND back in May. It is when your brain is not communicating with your nervous system and it can present in many different ways. The therapy is to retrain the brain to communicate properly. Try and find a clinic that has a program for FND. What Mayo Clinic is your granddaughter close to? Reach out to them. I will suddenly be unable to take the next step. There are times that I go into stroke like symptoms where I can't move, can't talk. It's scary. I have GI issues. It causes my blood pressure to be too low. Good luck and keep researching for help for her.

The stroke like symptoms made people get me to the ER. The doctors were sure it was a stroke even though I kept trying to explain FND. Arg!

I was standing up, singing while working on a puzzle. All of a sudden my words would not come out, and my arms were frozen in mid-air…it only lasted for about 10 seconds but that was enough.

My speech is still a problem on occasion but not body freezes.
