I have overactive bladder with constant urgency. Every time I pee I get electric shock like sensations from my neck down both arms to my fingers. It is unpleasant and quite painful. I am wondering if due to vaginal atrophy (I am 79) there is some kind of prolapse pushing on a nerve. I have an upcoming MD appt to discuss this.

I hope that you will let us know what the doctor says. This is a fascinating topic; I'd never heard of pain in the arms when needing to pee, but I can understand it happening. Sometimes when I get a massage, massaging my leg creates a stinging in the side of my torso.

I have now gone to my primary care, who believed me about the electric shocks going down my arms and she diagnosed vaginal prolapse. I will be having pelvic floor therapy and if that doesn't work, I will have an MRI of my cervical spine. It is possible that the shocking may be due to a problem with the spine rather than the bladder.
