I appreciate your post and the way you cope with anxiety. You list diet, exercise, meditation, petting a dog, etc. - a very balanced approach.
I especially like the idea of arriving early to reduce the anxiety. I always did that when I worked as well - and it started my day off much better. At the time i was doing it, I did not realize that it was to reduce anxiety, but it certainly made me feel better prepared for the day. Thanks for sharing the ways you cope. Even small changes in routine can have a big impact on how we feel.

You are definitely not alone. I suffer with it too. I have it as we speak. Hopefully we can together as a group figure out some strategies. Be blessed!
Please feel love al around you coming from all kinds of people. If Psychiatrist does not knowledge this problem, whomever they are , they do not sound supportive to you! And, we all need support all around us, friends, family, and specially MDs that we are going to for their expertise. This ANXIETY in when one wakes up is common and painful, because one does not want to wake up!
Now does that not sound with some common sense added, something that a professional needs to address?
And, find answers to help? Or, find another one...my MD is so supportive, even though it is not all solved, I do have to make more changes myself, but, we need to have SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE SURROUND US. If one has never felt this kind of horror, they probably do not know what you are talking about, but you need to be validated. And, MD needs to do this and find research of it, or, the specialist
is perhaps the right one for you? Go forward!
Thanks for the all of the good suggestions. I am going on 4 years of continual morning anxiety. The doctors I have seen are indifferent and judgemental. Claim they are not familiar with morning anxiety. I am glad to know I am not alone.
