Personal trainers are not cheap, but I hunted for a long time and found a gym that has five 1-hour sessions for $300. This gym allows me to schedule training different days and times and does not require every week, so this is spanning about 2 months for me. The gym itself is free for Silver Sneakers members which comes with my Medicare Advantage.
Working with the trainer on LIFTMOR style weight lifting helps. I have to stop and take my own notes about details of what she tells me. I then cross-ref the notes with videos on YouTube about the same subjects to lock in my brain what I learned. Having committed to the time and cost and anticipating the next time I see my all-to-nice personal trainer has helped my motivation.
Not sure what I will do after my first set of 5 hours is done. Definitely try to keep it up on my own.
