@kasper1 , please go to that care center doc even though>2 hours away, at least for a 2nd opinion. I ALWAYS learn something from each doc I go to. My son drove me 2 hours 20 minutes to Dr. Pamela McShane in east Texas (before she transferred to NIH in Washington). Then I had 2 telemed visits after that. I learned soooo much from her & her respiratory therapist that I saw at that same visit & also had a pulmonary function test & she insisted I get tested for CF to rule it out even though I am in my late 60s. I got that done at nearby childrens hospital. (I tested negative). I still have my local pulmonary doc, & Local Infectious disease doc, but I also had local 2nd opinion with infectious disease at the large teaching hospital nearest me. I told my local specialists that I will continue to see them; but I owe it to myself to get 2nd opinions, & my local docs were fine with that. So,please try & go & at least once, you will probably learn something. If Dr. McShane (care center network & MAC specialist) was still in Texas, I would still be driving the >2 hours to see her. *Consider it a day trip. We left early morning, arrived there at 10 for a 10:30 appt.; and we were back by 6 pm.
