@janism This is a great topic!

I’ve been active for most of my life with all kinds of different activities. I did these activities like cross-country skiing, hiking, swimming laps, long walks because I enjoyed them. Now that I’m in my 70’s I find myself slowing down.

These days I work with a personal trainer two times a week with strength training. I don’t lift as heavy as I used to however a combination of osteoporosis medications (Evenity and Reclast) and weightlifting resulted in large gains in bone density. That’s satisfying.

Here is what I struggle with. I need more aerobic exercise for cardiovascular health and for osteoporosis. Currently I have an injury/tenderness at the top end of my left hamstring muscles and sit bone. I have exercises that the PT sent home with me. I need to remind and will myself every day to do these exercises. I also need to “watch” my nutrition for cardiovascular health and osteoporosis. Why take medication if I don’t make these lifestyle changes?

Thank you for the cheerleading messages. Let’s all cheer one another on!!
