My husband with PD and LBD has forgotten my name. He doesn't recognize me as his wife of 52 years. He continues to ask me to call his darling wife to come get him. I believe he is searching for the 22 year old he married. I settled for the fact that even though he doesn't know who I am, he knows I take good care of him and I love him. God bless ~

@timber2026 the fact that he refers to his "darling wife" shows the love he has for you, even if he can no longer connect your face with that "darling wife" of 52 years. It's charming that in all of his brain chaos, he remembers having a "darling wife." Somehow in all of this we have to just find perspective, and tune into the good in all this confusing bad. I marvel over how forgetful they are, the quirky things they do, often detached from us all, and then there's this "awakening" where my own husband said a month ago that he is my care partner. One minute, he can't remember, then shows up today, with a container of cut up pineapple and three lemons, telling me, as my care partner, he knows what's best for me and my GI stomach issues. My takeaway: tune into the good whenever we can. I have a care partner and you - regardless of whether he recognizes you are not - are his "darling wife." Best, Karla
