@marikel Hi--I gather that estrogen blockers reduce the estrogen to about zero. This way the hormones can't feed the tumors. Pretty much every woman with estrogen fed tumors gets offered aromatase inhibitors/estrogen blocks. I have been on one, letrozole, for almost four years with no side effects and no cancer. About half of women can tolerate the drugs, but many cannot. You could start an estrogen block and see how you do. There are several kinds--some may give you fewer side effects. Your doctor should work with you. I certainly understand being scared, but information can help. Can you say what your main concern is?

I don’t think AIs reduce estrogen to zero. I took Anastrozole for 4 months and estradiol test show below 10. Is it because the test can not detect any estrogen levels below 10? I don’t know. But if AIs can reduce estrogen to zero, why do we need to take for 5 years? Does it take that long for cancer cells to die without food?
