I have osteopenia my Dr wants to prescribe me with Denosumab injections every six months. I am hesitant to start the injections. I have dental implants. I also have had osteomyelitis of my right lower leg with a skin craft. About a year ago my wound fron my skin craft opened up I couldn't get it closed until last February.
I have my doubts about starting this medication. My husband and I also spend our winters in Florida.

@boneless1234 Osteopenia only, not osteoporosis? Have you ever had a fracture from a non-high/low impact fall? Do you have a high FRAX fracture risk on your DEXA? Is your doctor an osteoporosis expert who is an endocrinologist? If not, can you get a referral to one? Not clear why your doctor would not start you on an oral bisphosphonate before considering Prolia. Note that if you ever start Prolia, you can never miss an injection on time or stop it without a planned transition to a bisphosphate or you risk a rebound (to worse) and spontaneous compressions. Are you 10 or more years past menopause? If not, HRT (hormone treatment) should also be investigated as an option to help mitigate bone loss.
