After my RP, I asked my urologist for any dietary advice. His only response: don’t eat red meat. Seeing that I had given it up 20 years earlier, that was a no-brainer. My personal physician added no cured or deli meats. On a podcast, an expert on prostate health said no dairy. She recommended Ripple milk, which is plant based. It tastes great but is more expensive than dairy milk. I have increased my fruit and vegetable intake, and only eat chicken and seafood(shrimp and Alaska seafood). Oatmeal and blueberries are my go to foods for breakfast. For my sweet tooth, I have a few pieces of Jojo’s dark chocolate only on weekends. I’ll have a small sweet treat on special occasions, like my birthday, anniversary and grandkids birthdays. I’m not perfect but much better than the past. I also stop eating at 6pm every evening. As a former health educator, I always recommended eating “in moderation”. With prostate concerns, being more restrictive is important. On the other end of the spectrum, there are survivors who say they will die happy eating whatever they choose. Many will say there is no exact answer. Obviously, the choice is yours. BTW, make sure exercise is an integral part of your daily routine. Best of luck.

I agree with you 100% ! It is not only about cancer - healthy nutrition keeps our body strong and young and full of energy and makes our immune system strong.

We must give our body a fighting chance with nutritional support. My husband is 70 but has zero other health issues, he has no problems with joints, or muscles, or any other "age related" limitations or diseases. It allows him to endure treatments with zero side effects and his post surgery recovery was full and with lightning speed at 70. 🧿 He is still working full time and has 2 startups on top of it and still finds time and energy to exercise every day. And, if it is important to anybody - he looks at least 10 years younger , I am mentioning that since somebody asked about "wrinkles" today lol in another post - eat healthy and stay hydrated is my advice. 😉
