It certainly doesn’t change what occurred now, but I am surprised pre surgery somehow in a scan it was not caught. Did you ever have a conversation with him about it prior to surgery. I have a hernia also and I don’t recall if he saw it, or I mentioned it, but I remember him saying he does not do hernia repairs while doing his surgery. I also heard where there are surgeons that do hernia repair while in there. I guess what i have not heard is a surprise we fixed a hernia we never talked about as a bonus. I would think unless you signed some paperwork authorizing it, the surgeon stepped out of line, although it still might have been reasonable for him to do it. He could argue it had been medically necessary that he needed to repair it for some reason while in there.
