I don't eat a steak often, but eat many things that have ground beef in it, so I being bad. Maybe all my exercising and walking will make up for some of that bad stuff?

Nope , unfortunately, nothing can lessen bad food choices effects.
Ground beef is worse than steak since the fat content is higher and usually not the best meat parts included in ground beef in general.
Also, if you grill it, than add some extra carcinogen factors in that scenario : (((.
If you can, stick with chicken, turkey, fish etc. and organic if at all possible.

Please read the UCSF link provided above - you will get detailed explanations and guidelines.

@diverjer Switch to ground DARK turkey meat; I had switched to it when I became allergic to all red meat (tick bite).
It is vastly different from regular white supermarket ground turkey.
In fact, no longer allergic to beef, I actually prefer the taste and texture in burgers, chili, soups and stews.
Even the best ground beef now tastes oily, gamey and much harder to digest.
But that’s just me getting older!
