@patgreen11 Cologuard Internet page specifically states "Cologuard Plus is for adults 45 years of age and older who are at AVERAGE risk for colon cancer. It is not a replacement for colonoscopy in high-risk individuals."
Definition of Average Risk
Being at average risk means you do not have high-risk factors that significantly increase your likelihood of developing colorectal cancer. Specifically, people at average risk:
Have no personal history of colorectal cancer or precancerous polyps
Do not have a first-degree relative (parent, sibling, or child) with colorectal cancer or advanced polyps
Do not have hereditary syndromes such as Lynch syndrome or familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP)
Do not have inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis
