I concur with @njx58. Having a -2.6 T score in your femoral neck at age 72 is not ok.

According to gemini: "Based on age and bone density alone, a 72-year-old woman with a femoral neck T-score of -2.6 has a high 10-year fracture risk and meets the diagnostic threshold for osteoporosis.Statistically, using the standard FRAX (Fracture Risk Assessment Tool) baseline data for an average U.S. woman of this demographic with no other health complications:Major Osteoporotic Fracture Risk: Approximately 15% to 20% chance of breaking a bone (hip, spine, forearm, or shoulder) over the next 10 years.Hip Fracture Risk: Approximately 3.5% to 5% specific risk of breaking a hip over the next 10 years."

My doctor says everyone who fractures (who is not on osteoporosis drugs) always regrets not being on them post fracture. These days we are very lucky to have many different types of drugs to treat weak bones.

Wishing you the best.

I am in new waters. My wife has been getting dexa every other year for probably 10 years and her Doctor says she is fine. She has no copies or reports or numbers. She is going to try and call her Doctor next week to get a copy for me to compare mine too, since i would like to know how they compare to since I am a male. Maybe the numbers cannot be compared, I don’t know, but it seems more women get these DEXA exams then men. It was done in the women’s clinic at a major hospital where all the women were also going for breast mammograms on one side. I really felt out of place getting my DEXA scan with all the other women.
