As long as you just stand there-that is okay and you don't charge like a bull.

Did you see the bison at Yellowstone National Park charge that 60 year old man and throw him 10 feet into the air??? The man survived with multiple broken bones and was in the hospital recovering. Emergency care givers arrived at the scene within minutes.

I worked as a nurse for 10 years while still having active PMR. Eventually, the pain got the better of me so I retired. I was a bear sometimes to my coworkers because of prednisone. I also had many demands placed on me from patients who didn't seem to appreciate that I was in pain too. I dutifully retrieved their pain medications as soon as I could. I understand the frustration with pain so I tried to make sure patients had what they needed. It seemed like every patient had many needs. I think we also need to cut health care workers some slack.

I had a rheumatologist tell me that he understood how I felt at one of my follow-up visits. I respected the doctor because he seemed very knowledgeable so I asked him how he knew so much. He said that he had the same autoimmune condition that I had. Then he said the visit was about me and not about him.

@dadcue that Dr is a KEEPER! Everyone need a Dr with your last line.
I have an orthopedic consultant Dr doesn’t operate anymore….she had it too.
That’s why no more surgery, but a great diagnostician. She helped with my PMR early on and sent me to Aqua PT…best thing ever.
