@rileyf I started on alendronate a few months ago. No side effects for me. My next DEXA is in January. My spine was -1.7 in January, so we'll see what happens. It's possible that the doctor will allow me to stop meds altogether, I'm not sure.
I believe the usual protocol is to take a drug holiday every few years if you're on alendronate. After five years, you take 2-3 years off.
My guess is that after a year of Tymlos, your spine will go to osteopenia range.

@rileyf Hi there! I know it doesn’t work for everyone but it has definitely worked for me. It pulled me back up into osteopenia. At 6 mos you are likely hitting its most effective period so think hard about dropping it. Have your docs been checking your bone turnover markers like CTX or P1NP to see how you are responding?
