@drsharon - so sorry to hear about all the symptoms you are dealing with and having to move out of your own house.

I've not heard of an asthma/refrigerator connection, but if you're noticing a distinct correlation, have you had the chance to ask your allergist/pulmonologist about this? If so, what did he or she say?

@lisalucier apparently new refrigerators off gas all sorts of nasty things from formaldehyde, benzene to acetylaldehyde and lots of other VOCs. I haven’t gone in to my pulmonologist yet, just treating it like any other flare up. I wasn’t expecting a reaction and just wanted to warn others. Formaldehyde is a common irritant for us
