I had an itch on my back that was horrible = it almost hurt rather than just itched - my doctor told me to get Capsaicin BUT not to put in on right out of the tube - it is so powerful that it almost makes the itch worse = he told me to mix it with a heavy cream and then smear it on - that did help

I also am prone to itches on my arms or legs late at night - my go to are ice cubes - i put them in a washcloth and rub them on the itch for minutes and I guess they quell the nerves that are causing the itch - it does work for me but not on an itch as severe as the one on my back.

I was told to take the capsaicin cream put it on a spatula and rub it on my back. I did do it but it didn’t really bring any more relief than the CeraVe I already was using on my legs so just go with that. Nothing truly satisfies the back itch just lowers it to a level I can live with. As long as I use the cream on my legs on a daily basis it works great but if I am in a rush and skip it the next day the intense itch is back
