Hi @plumto66, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.

Others that have discussed similar experiences may have more they can share with you about limited heart rate during exercise, particularly after starting metoprolol when your sports watch indicated atrial flutter: @perner, @codythedog and @merrychristmas

You mention weakness and fatigue. Do these symptoms stay with you or do you notice if they are perhaps during or following exercise? When do you see your cardiologist?

hi there,
fatigue and malaise were constant at first. needed naps in afternoon (a first) legs were really painful. runs became uncomfortable walks and mountain biking became limited to futile attempts to keep contact with group i’ve been riding with for some time before turning around. i feel better since reducing metoprolol from 50 to 25mg on my own. saw dr. friday and he agreed resting HR of 38 was indication dosing was excessive and he actually prescribed new 25mg pill with understanding i was going to wean off totally with time. legs much better - fatigue as well (no more naps necessary). wether flutter returns is to be seen. the fact my watch was the ONLY indication to date that i actually had a problem continues to impress me.
