Spending time quietly at the norther California coast (sea ranch specifically) or the oregon coast near Cannon beach. The wilder and stormier the better.

Your comments reminded me of when I was a kid. On stormy days with a high sea we would go down to the wharf and run its length and back before a wave would hit. Only kids are so foolish enough to try and defy Mother Nature for when the wave would hit, if you got caught, you would have been swept off of the wharf.
