I started Anastrazole October 2025, & noticed my Rheumatoid arthritis pain really amped up by February. My oncologist strongly recommended an antidepressant that also addresses arthritis pain - Duloxetine. I finally went ahead with the drug in late May, & this week started getting mouth & throat sores. The literature states: "Get medical help right away" which makes sense as my throat was starting to swell up. I messaged both my GP & oncol, both of whom minimized the situation. I stopped taking duloxetine yesterday & already my throat has calmed down.
On a side note, I was taking the vaginal insert Estradiol for my prolapse, but my oncologist insisted I stop. Both my gyno & GP's nurse practitioner said it would be fine, so I've been researching & even the NIH says it's ok for those of us with estrogen positive recurring breast cancer. I'm prioritizing quality of life & going back on.

@lauriecub That’s a lot! We have to be good advocates for ourselves! Be careful to not assume the worst about these drugs but also share what we notice and say what we need. I’m also considering quality of life (as we all are). So hard to balance risk reduction with quality of life needs
