@gprior, I might also add that you don't have to navigate this alone. You can talk to a genetic counselor. Genetic counselors have advanced training in genetics and counseling. Their background enables them to provide education about genetic diseases and testing AND emotional support as you process information and make decisions.

You might ask at the cancer center where your husband was treated if you could speak to a genetics counselor to talk about how to talk with your family. How are you doing?

@colleenyoung thank you for the link. I did view the information and i didnt know that there are genetic counsellors, I will definitely get in touch with the oncology team who treated my husband and have a chat with them re my seeing a genetic counsellor. I am still living in a sort of unreality with all that happened in such a short amount of time, I guess I am still trying to process everything in my mind while still having to deal with all the notifications etc that need to be done.
