@nrdl2879 - thanks for sharing your son's story. As a mom, I would feel very scared if one of my children was in a coma for weeks, and then in the hospital and a nursing home for a long time. That, along with having to teach him how to do everything all over again, would require extreme patience and love.

Glad to hear he is doing well, employed, married and has a child. Sounds like he has come an amazingly long way.

What helped you to get through the past 30 years since this occurred?

@lisalucier I always compared myself to a hamster on a wheel. If i quit running on the wheel my son would fall off too

Let my son act like he is 10 years old when he needs to. Luckily he is easy going. Some TBI patients can be mean and ornery

Now i am caregiving for my husband who has stage 4 colon cancer and found out last year i have bone marrow cancer.
Just enjoying everyday
