@bohaiboy '...removed at lot of scar tissue..'? I think what you may have misheard is that you already have a lot of scar tissue (caused by the ablation in 2006) and that an ablation would not help you since so much scarring is already extant. IOW, there's not much scarring left to do.
During an ablation, the EP causes scarring. The scars are what make up the 'dam' of tissue over and through which the rogue signals cannot pass and cause the atrium to beat. He/she is saying that you got pretty beat up inside your heart the first ablation long ago (how he knows is uncertain to me, but maybe he has really good records from your EP earlier). And he/she may be right on the money (I am untrained, so I wouldn't presume to second-guess). But, if you only had the standard PVI the first time (pulmonary vein isolation), I would say there is lots left to scarify, but in the 'right hands'. Again, you and your EP know best, but it would be rare for an index ablation to leave the host's heart so badly scarred that further interventions via ablation are no longer viable.
I would quietly seek a second opinion.
