I don't believe that anyone should be basing their tapering schedule on internet content. Our doctors should be involved in any tapering regimen and anything we consider should be discussed with our doctors first. Only scored pills are made to be split. Pills can be scored to split in either half or fourths. If adrenal insufficiency is a problem with prednisone tapering, it may be worth discussing with your doctor whether hydrocortisone pills can be used as a replacement for the prednisone.
