I have been on Buspirone for seven years now. Prior to Buspirone, I was on Klonopin and I was concerned about becoming too dependent on it. Buspirone is a much safer medication and for me, and it is just as effective. I do sometimes hear a buzzing sound in my ear right after I take the medication. I call it the "Buspar Buzz." Per my doctor's suggestion, I find that if I take only 7.5 mg of Buspirone at a time, the buzzing sound disappears. As a result, I break the 15mg tablet in half for each dose. I take 7.5 mg in the morning, 7.5 mg at noon and 7.5 mg in the evening. I can tolerate the medication much better. When I first started taking it, I felt a little dizzy; however, these side effects wore off after I was on the medication for a couple of months.
