@istraz34 Make sure that your doctor is aware of ANY new medicines you are going to take! Vitamins are great when used properly but can cause real problems if they build up in the body.
If you are trying to restore what the body has lost, do so, but with care. This is a gentle reminder to all of us on Mayo Clinic Connect!

@becsbuddy I am adding my story to this thread.
I was diagnosed with PMR back in January, after requesting a referral to a rheumatologist for lingering pain in my hips and shoulders after multiple cervical fusion surgeries in July and then September.
I believe PMR is caused from stress, just my opinion.
Because I have osteopenia, I was only given 12 mg. Of methylprednisolone , then reduced to the current 8 mg.
I had a day away of driving a couple hours to watch our grandchildren play soccer, and started feeling bad. This gradually became worse, until I had unbearable pain that moved to a different place in my lower back, first the left side, then the right side, down the back of my thighs, with numbness and pain into my feet. I couldn’t walk, without my walker.
An MRI of lumbar spine showed nothing. I requested a ct scan of my sacrum because I asked AI for an opinion after putting in my symptoms, it showed I had a bilateral fracture of my sacrum, (also showed a previous fracture of my pelvis that had healed!).
There is little that can be done for this, only rest until it heals.
I am starting on a biologic med next week. I am praying that it works and I can get off my walker!

@becsbuddy
Yes, I believe I stated to check with doctor. If not, glad you did.
