Thanks for posting this. My hubby with MCI has a new behaviour that’s puzzled me. He can’t wait to start eating until we sit down. He fill his plate at the counter and starts eating on the way to the table. He does eat very fast now and it’s like he’s ravenous as well. I didn’t think it was part of the disease. He also has to act on an idea the minute it comes into his head.

My husband also acts like he's eating after being without rations for ages, when it's probably on the hour he wants to eat something.
This just happened: I dished him up and he started eating standing up. I suggested he sit down and eat in a more relaxed way.
When the gluttonous behavior first started occurring a few years ago, I thought maybe he was reverting to his childhood when he may have had to eat fast or hide food if he wanted a decent portion (due to multiple mouths to feed in a large family, and a very large older brother who may have taken more than his share).
My formerly lean and very health-conscious husband has left the building.
If I don't hide food now (just the sweets), he would just mindlessly eat. I try to practice portion control when he eats, so his growing waistline won't continue to grow.
Good luck out there, everyone!
