Hello @peach414144, thank you for opening a new discussion. Sorry you have had to go through so much. It can sometimes be tough handling what life throws at you. and I do like your positive attitude. I really think that it makes a big difference how we react to what happens in life which is not always easy. Just sharing your story here is helping others with similar health struggles know you are not alone. I had to look up interstitial and still not sure what it is other than I think that health wise it's related to tissues of organs.

Me, I just take it one day at a time for my struggles with PMR, carpal tunnel, high blood pressure, small fiber peripheral neuropathy and a wife that makes it all worth while. When I started my research for something to help with the numbness in my legs and feet for the PN, I found Connect and through Connect I found other things that have helped on my journey. One big one that I've always struggled with is eating healthy and after many years with Weight Watchers I decided I'm the one that has to change and started down the road of changing my lifestyle when it comes to food - going from living to eat to eating to live. It has helped with my blood pressure and my pre-diabetes - if there is such a thing - I always have that argument with my primary care docs.

Hoping others jump in and offer some interesting conversation that helps!

John

yes, eating healthy is prime. my favorite is: throw a whole chicken into a huge pot, (wash it first) add 5 cups celery cut large, 10 large carrots cut large, one huge sweet white onion cut small, 1 1/2 cups cabbage cut small, 2 parsnips cut medium, 8 small "gold" potatoes peeled, and 3 huge peeled cloves of elephant garlic placed on top of everything (let it sit there). notice: no salt or whatever. cook on a low flame for about 1 1/2 hours. these seven vegetables are good for everything. it is a sweet soup and very, very healthy. perhaps a piece of buttered bread to dunk or not. can also be used with noodles instead of potatoes. this is even good for a diabetic and a high blood pressure diet and on and on. what say?. good to share this easy to make dish.

also, i have the same numbness with great, great pain in both feet up to the knees. awful.

Boy does that sound yummy! Much better than the spinach and kale caesar salad I had for lunch.

John with your PMR does the humidity affect it. I was doing pretty good with my 5mg in the morning & 5mg in the evening. As I had said I live @ 7200' in elevation in AZ it is pretty dry up here usually no more then 20% now in the last 2 weeks our monsoons have come in & we are at 60 to 80% & my PMR it seems to have gotten worst I also now have it in both wrist joints I did have to increase the dosage to 10mg in the morning & staying with 5mg in the evening. Now in the morning the pain is much worst then it has been.
Do you think the humidity has anything to do with it?

Hi Roland - yes the humidity seems to play a big role for me and others. I notice it more after we've had some rain and it gets hot and humid. I have a little more aches and pains in my shoulders, arms and hands. Also a little stiffer walking around.

Thanks John I thought it was just me I also am experiencing a little stiffness walking. For the last couple of week I have had a difficult time riding my bike because of the aching joints in my wrist rode vibration really makes them hurt more I cannot decrease the air pressure in my tires I run 100 lbs so I suffer or don't ride. Thanks for the info.

@peach414144 What a great sounding soup - and so easy. Thanks for sharing that with us! Teresa

i have not thought of the humidity factor. now i will watch and gauge it for results. thanks for that. maybe turning the thermostat to a degree that will take more of the humidity out. i have been keeping the house warmer to save on electric but now not to suffer any more than is necessary.
