@humbug Hello! I had muscle and joint pain from Risedronate Sodiaum that was fairly mild but did not realize it was from that until I stopped taking it. I used Evenity for 11 mos initially and after 6-7 months it was quite debilitating with significant muscle, joint, tendon pain. I am active and healthy so it was very different from my “normal”. Immediately following Evenity I took Fosomax and that caused a lot of muscle and joint pain. Switched to Risedronate Sodium for two years and it was manageable but not great. Not on any drugs now for two months and feel so much better. Discomfort was definitely from the drugs. Watching diet and exercise/strenghtening consistently for now. Listen to your body as you know it best.

@lauratys Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Risedronate! Good to know that I am not imagining things. At first I thought my joint pain was due to prednisone withdrawal in February, but according to my blood work nothing appears to be off with cortisol, etc. So, it must be the risedronate. I'm also very active and a runner, so the knee pain is definitely affecting this. Interestingly, I only get pain when bending the knee, like in walking up stairs, standing up, etc. though I also feel it with high impact which was not the case before I started Risedronate. In July, I have a plan, in collaboration with my doctor, to go off Risedronate for three weeks to see if the joint pain improves. It is bilateral, and I also feel it to a lesser extent on my wrists, also bilateral. Glad you are off the drugs and lifestyle approaches are working for you. I'm hoping for the same!
