I see that question about PRP is 5 yrs old but I'm chiming in here in case anyone else sees this. I had consisdered PRP for a severe case of plantar fasciitis lasting 6 months...so far. None of the conservative treatments have worked---shoes, orthotics, stretching, physical therapy, NSAID's. Fortunately, I learned about shockwave therapy for it. I've had 5 treatments so far and in the past few days I am actually able to walk. I had thought the rest of my days were sitting on the couch and playing musical shoes and orthotics throughout the day. I'm due for treatment #6 today and am scheduled for 2 more after that. In reading about shockwave therapy, I see that it also treats tendinitis and other ailments that involve a lot of inflammation. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover it but I believe the cost is lower than PRP.

@dove123 It is unless you have to do many treatments over different areas with Shockwave. I have seen packages in my area about as much as one PRP. I have thought about Softwave and/or Shockwave but also worry that if I have declining collagen in tendons, how long with this treatment last. How long will PRP last? Both are a crapshoot but trying to weigh the options.
