I assume any one can have a different reaction to Gabapentin.
I was prescribed 300mg at night for leg cramps and neuropathy. It worked very well and I had no noticeable side effects. After a year on this med, my doctor said get off it slowly over the next couple weeks and see what happens. I no longer take this med but I do use a muscle relaxer to keep the leg cramps in check.

@peter51f Thank you. My dosage prescribed is 800mg x 3 per 24hrs. Neuropathy is in both feet. Been told surgery is too dangerous for me. Bone fusion would lead to fractures, wheelchair bound and possible amputation. My weight is average to low and not an issue but I have had both TKRs and both hips replaced in last 4 years. Have you any knowledge of any symptoms for this dosage?
