Your top post says you are on antidepressant [AD for short] for over a year but want to quit using it, even though AD are prescribed BECAUSE you had a health issue that needed fixing. So I suppose we at least know WHY you need to USE IT. Apparently, your life was WORSE Before its use, right? So we can agree that the use of AD need to continue, for now, as your doc and family, both wish to primarily FOR YOUR GOOD, but also for those around you, mainly the family, and the place of your work. So we agree so far, right?
It was from this understanding that I wrote back that if you would like to explore how one might wean off of this AD, presumably because of its bad side effects, I had asked you why not Start with Healthier Lifestyle such as balanced food and physical activity. But it is also true that the depressed have MOST difficulty with such lifestyle changes. It is for this reason I mention how Purpose in Life is crucial.
I understand finding a purposeful life at 17 may be asking too much too early but the reason I said it because without ANY sense of direction a life can easily morph into wrong or harmful directions. Knowing that you are working and thus contributing to the family that raised you, you ARE doing what is a good, responsible, and therefore, in GENERAL, has a positive effect on you and those around you.
In your case, when u say, “I don’t know what to do cause I have always been in a situation that I must do stuff that are good for my family or I always have to do stuff that I don’t want.”I hope you agree what is “good for family” is Also Good For You. Right? After all, you all together are sharing the cost of shelter/roof-over-head, and perhaps food.
Regarding your next issue in the same para above, “or I always have to do stuff that I don’t want”Can you be specific what are those? After all, in our life, we all have to sometimes do what we do Not like, cleaning floor, doing dishes, being patient with tantrums of babies and adults. I am sure you mother have had the same feeling you mention. Lol!
@sisyphus
So what am I supposed to do. Even after deciding that I would quit my meds I take them everyday with the fear of getting my withdrawal symptoms. And about a healthy lifestyle that you mentioned, I am trying everything to make it healthy like for example I’m exercising and trying to start my studies at least as much as i can.
