Uterine fibroid nightmare.

@gravity3 yes, I will most likely have a hysterectomy complete -uterus & cervix + salpingectomy to remove fallopian tubes. My gyn has advised to leave the ovaries if possible as they don’t like to remove them before age 62 due to small amounts of hormone still being produced before this age. I currently take 100 milligrams of bioavailable progesterone (generic prometrium) every other day + .0375 estradiol patch that I change twice a week.

Next steps for me are dependent on the pathology report which really dictates who, what and how I proceed … with my gyn or with an oncology team. I will know more in a couple weeks.

Best wishes for your procedure. Can they perform it with a minimally invasive approach? If so, that approach made an easy recovery possible for me. But I had ovaries removed as well but at 70. Good luck. Would love to know how you do.
