@roch I have talked to my doctor about help with my weight loss. I have been battling my weight for 35 years. I’ve been on every diet. Currently I’m on Phentermine. It is a great appetite suppressant. No nausea. I barely have an appetite. I still am not losing weight. I’ve been on it for 4 months. I feel like something drastic has to happen but I don’t know. My GP is not helpful at all. I have Kaiser so the quality of care is disappointing to say the least. My doctor did not know that you can be insulin resistant and NOT be diabetic. I had to tell her. Kaiser will not let you see a weight loss specialist unless you are ready to have surgery.

Not familiar with Kaiser, Googled their options and see they have a Kaiser Permanente Center for Healthy Weight and Lifestyle Medicine (or Center for Healthy Living), but only in a few cities. It is a shame you were not offered a program to discuss non-surgical options.

Do you keep a food journal? I hate journaling my food intake, but sometimes it shows patterns that help you identify areas that you can change.

Has your provider ever checked your thyroid? The thyroid hormones can affect weight.
