I had TURP 17 years ago. There was the operation, a night in the hospital, adjustment to peeing with a catheter, blood gobs for a day or two after it was out, but then great relief. It was highly uncomfortable, but by far not the worst thing I've been through, and when it was over, it was over. And I was much better. Sifting through the debris also discovered the first hint of PCa (T1, just enough to keep watch on it). I'll admit, retrograde ejaculation is something to get used to, but (to me) not that big a deal. So I'm curious about your situation: Why not TURP?

P.S. - a bit of fun - My TURP was at Scripps in San Diego. My hospital room had a huge widow overlooking the North Course at Torrey Pines, with a view of hang gliders and the Pacific in the near distance. Nothing but sunshine, naturally. To this day, it was the nicest place I've ever "lived".
