@tisme you can't know without blood tests. Blood tests will confirm RA. Xrays confirm OA. However there are other types of arthritis like GOUT (a uric acid or urine blood test), which can be debilitating. They can all mimic each other.
Try Tylenol for pain. Try Tart Cherry Capsules (Zazzee brand) for gout.
OA normally just causes joint stiffness. The kind of pain which feels like an inflammatory reaction is either Gout or RA. If you have RA you need medicine which only the doctor provides. See an arthritis speccialist after you've tried gout remedies to see if that can resolve things for you.

I have osteoarthritis and I have stiffness, inflammation and pain. I don't have RA. Osteoarthritis can be primary or secondary but there is definitely pain involved.
