@lynnsusan That could be a difficult choice but I think both might be the best options. I just watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch posted by OsteoBoston and found it very informative. An endocrinologist from a doc at Harvard. The first half is where he discusses treatment. Last half was for questions from the group. Maybe that will give you some extra info.
I didn't know anything about Evenity so went with Forteo as that is what my endo prescribed (and was also currently taking!) I'm on my 3rd month with it and not having any problems that I can report.

I consider that Forteo builds better bone. Evenity builds bone faster, and if you need reinforcement quickly because of fracture risk, it could be a better choice. Evenity gives you modeled bone and remodeled bone. Forteo gives you remodeled bone which means that fissured bone is removed before new bone is added.
A small advantage is that Forteo leaves your system quickly. If you have side effects you can stop them quickly by just stopping the medication.
I've never taken Evenity, though. I can only say that I'm happy with Forteo.
