Earlier I posted a comment with a link to Better Bones (Dr Susan Brown) about the bone building drugs Evenity, Tymlos and Forteo. I just watched it again and was surprised to learn that, although they build bone, their fracture prevention benefit is minimal. Dr Susan Brown said studies show those three drugs don't reduce hip fractures by any significant amount. They reduce vertebral fractures by 1-4%, meaning that 100 women have to take the drug to prevent 1-4 vertebral fractures. That appears to be a low benefit for a drug that can cost as much as $30,000 a year.
