Bigjohn
Our nerves are made with vitamin c. But they are insulated by vitamin B12.
Our stomach acid extract B12 from animal protein. There is no B12 in vegetable and fruit. Best food sources are liver and mussels .
Many people never eat those, so you would do well to take the supplement METHYLCOBALAMIN. That's the medical name for B12. Sorry, but alcohol does stop absorbtion.

@jamessaxo I take 200 mcgs of methylcobalamin and I have noticed my depression has turned to energy, focus is better and want to get out more. Hope this continues. I am happier. I have peripheral neuropathy, am 78 years old and my biggest problem is balance. Don't see a change in that. Thanks, BSK
