What places do you recommend to stay when at Mayo in Rochester, MN?

Well well
I finally got approved for my
surgery. Thank God. Now I just have to find a place to stay in Rochester for a week. I was thinking about an Airbnb. I need to stay from July 20th through July 27th. I am nervous about the surgery but at the same time am grateful for Dr Dey. I've traveled to hospitals all around the world and no one has been able to help me with my nerve damage so far. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

There are so many possibilities and each individual may have different needs. My husband and I like to stay at Sleep Inn because of close proximity to a variety of restaurants. Also, sounds silly, but the hotel has tall stools which for us makes a difference.
Last fall I had a couple appts so only stayed 2 nights, but I stayed at the Econolodge. It is an older hotel but has been updated/remodeled. It is south of the clinic on Broadway, there is a shuttle that runs every hour starting at around 6am. I think it had breakfast but I didn’t eat it, I think it was pretty basic/small. It did have the fridge/microwave/coffee pot, there is a kwik trip about a block away, and restaurants nearby. The staff was very nice & accommodating, I think the manager was female, not that it matters, but being a female staying alone gave me piece of mind. They have clinic rates & I was there mostly to sleep, shower, etc, I think my rate was around $65-70/night, not $$$ like most of them even with clinic rates. I would definitely stay there again if I have to go again by myself, I did call the hotel directly instead of using one of the booking companies, easier to cancel or ask about rates, etc. Sorry this post got longer than I intended. Actually I’m interested to know too. Just in case. Will be grateful if fellow friends in this forum can provide advice. One can perhaps do better than any recommended on their website. Takes a local to know the place better.
