@bajjerfan I hadn't heard that, but I suppose it stands to reason: it's a 'beta-adrenergic' inhibition drug, so if a person is experiencing a strong emotional response, such as fear, the adrenal cortices will produce lots of adrenaline. Adrenaline, among other intended responses, causes the heart to beat forcefully and to speed up...'fight-or-flight.' Metoprolol is meant to stunt that response, and that is why it is also good for 'incipient hypertension.'
