Docetaxel or Pluvicto? Monitor Phase 1 or 2 years. Now Transition to new treatment & new Oncologist.
Hi. I'm in Waynesboro Virginia. 62 years old. Advanced Prostate Cancer 6 years stage 4 the whole time. I'm falling through the Cracks. Medicare plan more expensive & less covered than last year. Expenses will determine if I get proper medical care. Thanks for any advice or recommendations or referral.

Have you had genetic tests? There are problems with some genetic issues and Pluvicto.

You need to have both an hereditary, genetic test and a somatic, genetic test. The somatic test can be done with either tissue or blood. If you have cancer in your family, the hereditary test is really essential, especially since you got Prostate cancer so young. I got it at 62 and didn’t find out I had BRCA2 for 10 years. That explained why so many relatives had breast cancer and pancreatic cancer. Some genetic problems can make Pluvicto not work very well. Some also affect chemo, Like TP53.

The Hereditary test will tell whether or not you have a genetic problem that’s in your family. The somatic test will tell whether or not the metastasis you have have a genetic problem. These tests are usually covered by insurance.

If you have BRCA2 or ATM Pluvicto seems to work better. If you have RB1, PTEN or TP53 They are Pluvicto resistant.

What protocol do they use where you’re getting tredfme? Do they require chemo first to qualify for Pluvicto?

What did you mean by “I'm falling through the Cracks.”??

Do you have Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage?
