@nycmusic Good for you, I am so happy to hear you are advocating for yourself! Knowledge is power, as we like to say. It used to be my medical teams over the years were upset when I brought questions or concerns to them. I recall one PCP telling me I knew more about kidney disease than he did! We are the ones with the biggest stake in our health. Never forget we are part of the team, and deserve to have our questions/concerns addressed!
Dietary changes are best done in small steps, and no time like the present. Don't let your doctor tell you, "no need to change anything". Do it now and it won't seem so difficult later. And may retard numbers changing in a direction we don't want to go.
