I took 9-300 Mg of Gabapentin. 900 Mg three times per day. Then I was put on 2 tablets of Duloxetine at night and I am not taking any Gabapentin any more. Still get moments of shooting pain, but I rub a lot of Lidocaine where the pain comes from and the pain finally goes away. I don't have as much shooting pain since I got rid of Gabapentin. Hopefully this helps some. Reddakota1

@reddakota1 Did you slowly decrease dosages of gabapentin or did you stop quickly? Many on this forum have commented that trying to get off it was a nightmare. I take 300mg four times a day, 1200mg total. I am down from 2400mg a day since taking R alpha lipoic acid 300 mg three times a day, total 900 mg. I also take vitamin B12, methylcobalamin. My diabetic neuropathy is pretty well controlled now but I would like to reduce gabapentin even mote if not entirely eliminate it. It makes me a little foggy brained and affects my balance.
