Norton is affiliated with St Joe's Hospital in PHX. They deal with lung issues and specialize in lung transplants as well as treating BE. One of the leads on the Mayo website (Sue?) posted a listing of all the hospitals/clinics networked in the US that specialize in BE. The only group in AZ that was on the list was Norton and they were categorized as an affiliate member. So thought I would see if Charlotte might be accepted for treatment since we're totally satisfied with AZ Pulmonary. If you're interested forward your e-mail and or phone number and maybe you and Charlotte can discus your situations.

Hi John,

I would be happy to talk to Charlotte about treatment options. I tried to get into Mayo Clinic when I first was diagnosed, but they wouldn't accept me.

My husband had Parkinson's Disease, and he had his treatment through St. Joe's. My son had esophageal cancer, and he was treated at St. Joe's also. But I had never heard about Norton before now and know nothing about their BE treatment.

I'm sending my e mail address. Please feel free to contact me. Then we can exchange phone numbers.

Good luck. Roz

@uperjohn1 I used to be a patient of AZ Pulm Specialist but due to the Pulmonologist I was seeing, I switched to Pulmonary Associates. I do see an ID doctor there, but she put me on the Big 3 when I didn't need them. My doctor is Dr. Da wei Liao and he is VERY GOOD! He diagnosed me with asthma years ago that not even NJH could get an appropriate diagnosis. And when he diagnosed me for NTM in November 2024, he told me I needed to start nebulizing with 7% hypertonic saline immediately and he had the supplies to my house in days. By the time I got into NJH, my M. Abscessus counts were so low, they told me I did not need treatment (at this time). The reason I know Dr Liao was right on my atypical asthma, is that I respond to Montelukast and now rarely need inhalants. He has other patients with NTMs and many with BE. I have suggested that he get Pulmonary Associates approved as one of the BE Clinics. He is located on Bell, near the 51. Pulmonary Associates have a number of Clinics in the Phoenix metro area.
