As per Mayo -
Using testosterone supplements after prostate cancer treatment is cautiously considered for select patients. While historically avoided due to fears of cancer growth, recent urological guidelines and studies suggest that, for appropriately selected men with successfully treated, localized disease and confirmed low testosterone, it does not significantly increase the risk of cancer recurrence.
Because taking exogenous testosterone after a prostate cancer diagnosis remains a nuanced clinical decision, it requires a careful, individualized risk-benefit analysis. You should discuss your specific medical history, treatment type (surgery vs. radiation), and current PSA levels with your urologist or an oncologist to determine if TRT is a safe option for you.
The decision should be made between the patient and the urologist as to the possibility of using or not using testosterone supplements.
